Come on NKOTB fans let's crash another site!

/sarcasm

We're currently trying to get into 'tinychat' (yeah, lol, ironic huh) for what, I have no idea since Joe's interview is going to be broadcasted on http://www.retrorewind.com/. Being in chat doesn't mean anything, but you know us, we always have to be up front and not even personal. *g*

Oh and btw: 272 days, 12 hours, 17 minutes and 6 seconds UNTIL THE CRUISE!!!!

eta: They've tried 5 chats, finally got one up just so we could crash it again. WE WILL RULE THE WORLD!

Day 8 and new ambition.

I suck at updating my blog, which explains why I haven't typed up my first best selling novel yet *g*. Anyway I have been doing the 30 day shred, just not quite every day. Today was Day 8. After struggling through the first day I feel as if I have way more endurance now. I'm pushing myself harder which actually is making it harder to finish the 20 minutes.

I'm proud of the fact that I can do all the push ups (knee down) needed and I can get through with barely stopping. I actually sat and watched Level 2 today since I'll be on it in a few days. *twitches*. Um yeah. I will say that I can see a slight difference in my body. My little love handles are smaller and I think my non-pregnant, but looks it, stomach is actually shrinking. I bet if I didn't chow down on the candy at work I'd be in better shape, but oh well.

In other news I'M GOING ON THE 2010 NKOTB CRUISE. Tuesday was hell. Pre-sale day. I spent from noon to 3:00 p.m. on the computer at work trying to book. I can't count how many times I got in, typed up information for me and my roomies only to get kicked out. I had a Penthouse Suite IN MY SIGHTS. But it was not to be. Then at 5:00 p.m. they released what seemed like 5 new cabins. I was actually able to book one. It wasn't the suite we wanted, but no biggie, we're just happy to be on.

Anyway now I have another reason for the 30 day shred. I want to see how it works now, so I can put it into effect prior to the cruise. So let's see what Tomorrow (and the next 21 days) holds.

30 Day Shed - Day 1 or aptly called (27 minutes of HELL)

Just to get my blog up and running again after a few month hiatus, let's begin to say that I've become increasingly lazy about working out ever since I purchased my house. My old apartment complex changed it's access code so people who move out wouldn't keep using its facilities (grrr) and it's been INSANELY hot in the QC. I mean seriously, when I see people running down the street in 91 degree heat and 115% humidity, sweat pouring from their bodies, cars having to navigate their way through a sweat flood zone, it makes me wonder...why bother?

I haven't gained much weight, but I've become lazy. I've spent plenty of after work days watching HGTV, eating and sleeping. My exercise is my 1 1/2 weekly mowing session. So while being lazy I learned of talk of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD (Jillian Michaels is the boot campish personal trainer on The Biggest Loser) I thought "Hmm, this might be something I should try." So after a few days of procrastination I went to Target, searched out the DVD's, got frustrated because WHY weren't the exercise DVDs in the music/dvd section (they ended up being in the exercise equipment section...imagine that?) and found a bright shining beacon of a $12.99 price for the dvd. I mean seriously, I was expecting to plunk down at least $29.99 to tone my muscles so this was an ultimate 'score'. I also invested in two 3 lb weights (you can use 3 to 5 lbs. I totally know that I wimped out on the 3s but I have such sucky upper body strength that it is probably a good idea).

I admit, I purchased the video on Saturday and Jillian stared at me from the unopened package on my entertainment center until Wednesday. (But I have excuses, I felt under the weather and I was in a bad mood for most of the week).

So last night I dragged out my exercise mat, put the DVD in, grabbed a bottle of water, got my hand weights and was ready to start my 'intense' (yeah right) 30 day training.

Um...yeah.

Day 1. I basically flopped my way through 20 minutes of Jillian yelling that I couldn't stop (and my dog thinking my mat was a place where she can lay her toys while I'm trying to use it). I should have known what I was getting into when the first exercise is push ups. WTF? I kept stopping but felt like Jillian would come through the screen and bitch slap me if I stopped for more than 5 seconds so I wheezed and flopped my way through the whole thing. You know it's a hard workout when you can't WAIT for abs because at least you get to lay down for a bit.
I did think I was somewhat in shape until last night. I was too exhausted to even reach over and drink water, which I so desperately needed.

With all that said, I can't wait for day 2.

p.s. I'm freakin scared to see what Levels 2 and 3 are like. I'm going to have to invest in an oxygen tank.

I'm a big girl now!

Today I received a call from my lender - my loan package is complete, and is being forwarded to the closing attorney next week. I close on my first home on the 31st. I can now breathe, and talk about it more. Everyone's been asking me if I'm excited, and I am, I really am but until I sign all of the closing docs I am still keeping it low key. I have superstitions and most of them deal with me getting my hopes up way too soon.

Of course, unless something happens like I lose the down payment or the house gets struck by lightening, THAT SUCKER IS MINE! Pinnie and I are going to have our own home!

For my NK girls, I plan on having a NK slumber party at some point so be prepared, be warned and bring the wineritas, coldstone and wild vine. IT'S ABOUT TO BE ON!

Just Dance...and lose your mind.

Okay so I am probably one of the only people who LOVE Just Dance by Lady Gaga (and yes a lot of it has to do with the sight of Danny and Jon on stage during the concert - had to throw a NK reference in, didn't I?) but never really listened to the words because I was always trying to get my mug on camera. I finally did last week and wow - this song describes some nights I've had out at the clubs to a big fat capital T.

The song is seriously bringing back memories of me, drunk off my ass, dancing like a crazed maniac because there was nothing else I could do without falling over.

It’s like, you seriously have not lived if you have not had a ‘Just Dance’ moment at a club. I admit I have lost my keys, lost my drink, drank someone else's drink, fell flat on the dance floor (although I do hold the queen of falling on the dance floor to my friend Leilani), thought I lost my cell phone, and pretty much had a playboy mouth that I wish I could shut.

HOWEVER - I have not turned my shirt inside out.

“I love this record baby, but I can’t see straight anymore!” Classic Katrina at around 1:00 a.m. at any given club circa 1996 – 2008 (okay, 2009, I totally forgot about two weeks ago).

Anyway I thought that was funny and worth sharing :)

Kimmel, 'Canes and Camping - New Kid style

So my LA girls are, at this moment in time, outside of Jimmy Kimmel after a day and a half of camping (and I must laugh that Mrs. 'I will never camp, ever, I don't care how much you try to bribe me' has been CAMPING on a sidewalk since Saturday Night (her defense...there is a SIDEWALK, not grass and dirt). I'm a wee bit jealous. Yes I am.

In fact, I had the opportunity to go, but being on the OTHER side of the country, just starting a new job, with a NK concert and NK cruise to take time off for, I declined. What happens, it snows and I have the day off. Had I known ahead of time we were getting this storm I would have flown out there over the weekend and partook in the excitement. I've talked to them a few times and except for the crazy girl who thinks it is entirely appropriate to come on Friday night, drop off a chair, leave for 10 to 12 hours a time and come back to claim her spot (I mean seriously, who DOES that) they have been having a ball.

In other Kat news, apparently as I was typing this I was roped into going to my first Carolina Hurricanes game on March 20th. Should be fun, especially with the person I'm going with. He's a dork, but apparently dork suits me. Anyway after watching last weeks game against the Sabres I hope the game against the Islanders is just as exciting. Of course, having a few beers with me and hanging with the guys, will make it as exciting. So for the week of March 20th I have:

March 17 - NKOTB Greenville Concert.
March 20 - Carolina Hurricanes game
March 21 - one of my best friend's birthday gathering.
March 22 - taking my ex boyfriend/now friend up to Lake Lure for his birthday.

I'm going to have to get an extra hour of sleep every day starting now just to make sure I have enough energy stored up for that week. Ah well, it wouldn't be my life without one random week of fun stuff to do.

Until next time.

Let it SNOW!

If it wasn't great enough that my rocker friend ended up giving me his New Kids on the Block/New Kids on the Block CD last night (not only that, but put it on while we were all having a small party - yes, I may have entertained them all with singing alone to I Wanna Be Loved by You - and yes Jonathan, I want to be loved by you too...anyway), but after all the hype about snow arriving today I finally got to partake in the excitement.

See, last time it snowed here, parts of Charlotte got up to 3 feet of snow. My area got...a smattering. I actually had to walk outside and look down into the grass to see the few clumped pieces of ice that remained. I felt neglected by mother nature. As the news showed kids playing on sleds and having snow days, I drove to work in a completely snow free environment. So about an hour ago when I went outside I was pleased (read=excited as hell) to see this:

That is the view from my balcony going to the lake. That was after ONE hour of snow. It's supposed to snow until tomorrow morning so I have NO idea what I'll wake up to. Craziness. Now if only I had a bottle of wine it would be great. Hmm, I wonder if it's safe for me to drive down to the store. I kind of want to ;)

Leave a Message....BEEP!

So I get home to my phone today with a text from one of my girls, and a text message from NKOTB saying CALL THEM. Well of course Kat does what she is told. So I called the number listed and was greeted by Joe McIntyre's voice telling me to leave a message and they may call me back with some 'tidbits' (lol at Joe saying tidbits. I don't know why but just hearing that word coming from his mouth made me giggle - tidbits tidbits tidbits - okay focus Kat). So of course I'm going to leave a message. I walk around my living room recording message one. It sounded bad and I stumbled so I ended up re-recording my message 7 times. SEVEN FREAKIN TIMES. And the only reason I didn't do it 8 times was because the systems said 'screw you' and sent my last message. Damn the system!

But I left a cool message despite the fact that I gave everyone but Joe props (I think he'll forgive me since I had to throw in a Lets Get This). It would be just grand if they gave me a call back. I just hope they don't do it while I'm in the office in a conference because...well, let's face it, I'd still answer.

Now I'll be alerted every time there is a new message from them. I hope all of the guys leave a message at some point. I hope all of you other fans were able to call and leave a message but I'm sorry, I hope mine stands out enough for them to call me back. I have things to discuss :)

Countdown to Europe

Okay let's start this blog off right.

In approximately one week and one day I will be off to Paris, France, via Atlanta. I'll have my ILAA confirmations in hand, my comfortable shoes packed and one of the most important items for the trip - my camera to document the chaos that will ensue. Oh yes, it's NKOTB in Europe time - can I get a what what!

I'll be seeing them on the last two stops of the first leg of the tour - Paris, France and Dusseldorf, Germany. I've been trying to bone up on my french. Back in my high school years I studied french for all four years. I was an 'A' student and now...nothing. I checkd out the 'French for Dummies' book from the library, but apparently I should have checked out the 'French for complete idiots like you' version because...nothing. WTF.

I'm wondering if, in Germany they will come out with their Dirty Dancing outfits from their cameo in the 'Knight' movie. Who knows. I'll be there, and that's the most important thing. :)
